The Wendell Broadband Committee Mission

To facilitate the acquisition or installation of high-speed Internet to Wendell, Shutesbury and Leverett.

  1. Researching technologies with an emphasis on Internet and technology access for the schools, libraries, town halls, police and fire departments, homebound residents, disabled residents, and seniors.
  2. Analyze costs and financing options by gathering information from prospective providers.
  3. Work closely with Wendell's Select Board, making recommendations to the Board regarding providers or technologies.
  4. Find the solutions that will best protect the rural character and pristine natural resources of our community.
  5. Find solutions that afford the most local control, affordable, options and financially self-supporting solutions.
  6. Consulting with, advising, and working closely with Shutesbury / Leverett broadband committees.

Wendell Broadband Committee Agenda for July 16, 2015 at 7pm

The Wendell Broadband Committee will meet at the Town Offices on Thursday July 16, 2015 at 7pm. The Agenda for this meeting is as follows:

  1. Approve minutes from July 2, 2015 meeting.
  2. Recap of Wired West delegates’ meeting–impressions, etc.
  3. July 27th Debt Exclusion vote.
  4. Discussion of other options (e.g. Axia, HG&E, Crocker, etc.) and scheduling of interviews
  5. Axia and Crocker reps scheduled to speak with committee on Thursday, July 23rd at 7:00 and 8:00 PM, respectively

  6. HG&E rep to meet with committee at 8:30 on Thursday, July 30th (meeting in Leverett at 7:00, will get here as fast as he can)

  7. To transact any other legal business.
