January at the Wendell Free Library

Join the Wendell Free Library Tiny Art Show! This is a fun event for patrons of all ages to show off their art skills on a small 3″ x 3″ canvas. Decorate a 3″ x 3″ canvas and return it to the library by February 9 for an exhibition. Canvases & Kits will be available starting January 2.

Yoga Workshops with Shay

Tuesdays January 9, 23 & 30 11-12:15

1/9 Awakening the Spine: The spine is the central trunk for life serving branches to reach out throughout the body.  Learn to initiate movement from the spine. Less rigidity.  Create new brain pathways. Positions of Balance will weave through each workshop.

The yoga workshop format is styled to allow time for greater focus than a traditional class can provide, Handouts to study for clarification. Consideration given to each student’s uniqueness, age, level of fitness.

Homeschool Hangout

Homeschool Hangout is a special once a month opportunity for local area homeschoolers to make advantageous use of library space to build community and further their educational goals.

Rolled Wax Candle & Clay Holder Craft

All ages are welcomed to register for a fun craft to light the dark winter days.  We will wrap and decorate some wax candles and make our own holders with air dry clay. Registration Required.

Puzzle Palooza

1-3 Team Puzzle Competition.

Mark your calendars and sign up your team for WFL’s first Puzzle Palooza. Saturday, January 20th from 12:30-3. Beginning at 12:30 with a puzzle swap, and a team puzzle competition starting at 1pm. In the competition, each team of 2-4 players will work to complete an identical 500 piece jigsaw puzzle. Sign up soonish so we know how many puzzles to purchase 🙂 It will be a fun, social, and brain tickling event.

It’s a book club and a potluck!  For the first meeting we will cook and bring to share a recipe from Smitten Kitchen Keepers.  Books are available on the book group book shelf.  At the first meeting we can discuss frequency of meetings and our next cookbook pick!
