Email exchange with Sasha Auer of DCR ( sasha.auer@mass.gov c: 857-310-2128 ) re monitoring Fiske:
Has anything changed on your property since our last site visit?
I believe our resident beavers had already flooded much of the area to the south and west of the pond when you were last here.
Do you have any new plans for managing your land?
We’re discussing putting a pedestrian bridge across the brook below the spillway, but don’t have firm plans yet. Also, please see “issues with the public” addressed below.
Do you have any questions about the conservation restriction?
No.
Have you had any issues with the public?
Yes. Someone was reported to have given a dog a flea bath in the pond. People have also complained about loose dogs jumping on them and chasing wildlife. Our policy has been that dogs must be under control, but we have voted to require that dogs must be leashed and to put up signs to that affect. Apparently, signs are also necessary forbidding the use of soap of any kind in any of the water within the CR’s boundaries.
Do you have any plans to transfer the property?
No.
